Saarens Productions announces we will be hosting a very special guest at the December 2, 2011
First Friday event: Nationally renowned author and biographer, Coyne Steven Sanders. He will be signing the book he co-authored with Tom Gilbert, DESILU: The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Mr. Sanders will be at the gallery from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and there will be a Q & A from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Coyne Steven Sanders is the author of the critically acclaimed Rainbow’s End: The Judy Garland Show and The Dick Van Dyke Show: Anatomy of a Classic. In addition to writing for Variety, he has covered television for The Hollywood Reporter and Emmy magazine. Mr. Sanders lives in Chicago and we are privileged to have him visit Bemidji as part of a book tour that has taken him all over the country.
DESILU brings into focus how the overwhelming pressures of fame, backstage battles, oversized egos, and Desi’s philandering and drinking led to the destruction of their star-crossed, tempestuous union – but never their love for each other.
This special edition includes a new foreword by Pulitzer Prize-winning TV critic Tom Shales, a new preface from the authors, and even more black and white photos of the most beloved couple in TV history.
